Research Abstract
I am interested in how processes of economic development are carried out on-the-ground, and in particular, how groups in developing regions learn to collectively shape their economic and institutional trajectories to achieve “high-road” outcomes that increase economic specialization, workforce productivity, and human wellbeing. My current lines of research include: i) group learning dynamics in local economic development, ii) the relationships between local political coalitions, patterns of policy selection and implementation, and economic development outcomes, and iii) the bases of forming “discipline” as a means of aligning social and private returns to market activity.
